Ramadan Mubarak

September 1, 2008 - الاثنين 01 رمضان 1429 by Anwar alAwlaki
Filed under Imam Anwar's Blog

Assalamu alaykum All,
Ramadan Mubarak to all of you. We ask Allah to guide us to the best deeds and to accept from us our fasting and prayers.
Ramadan is the month of Quran and generosity. In Abbas says: “I have never seen anyone more generous than Rasulullah, and he would be most generous in Ramadan when Gibril would read Quran with him”
Imam Malik used to close the books of hadith and fiqh in Ramadan and devote his time to Quran.
Allah says: “The month of Ramadan in which Quran was revealed.” So the revelation of Quran began in Ramadan.
Therefore dear brothers and sisters we should focus on Quran during the holy month.
Lets not forget too that the month of Ramadan was a time when great battles were fought such as the battle of the criterion, the battle of Badr, and the greatest conquest, the opening of Makkah. There is also the important battle that saved the Muslims from the Mongol invasion, the battle of Ayn Jalut. So we should not forget our brothers who are carrying on this duty today from our dua and support.
Lastly, we need to keep in mind that while we are enjoying the blessing of freedom and having iftar with our families that we have thousands of brothers behind bars and only Allah knows what conditions they are in and there are thousands of families who are deprived the presence of their loved ones. Lets pray for them during this blessed month.
O Allah free our Muslim brothers from the prisons of the tyrants and shower on them and their families Your mercy. O Allah accept our good deeds and forgive us our mistakes.
Assalamu alaykum

May Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) protect this beloved Ummah, we ask Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) to honour the Islamic Ummah, to establish her authority on this earth, to grant her a great victory, healing the chests of the Believers. We pray that the sons of this Islamic Ummah will show Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) what they can do of good, standing as men and taking the task firmly and seriously, with dedication, exhausting all efforts, working day and night for the victory of this great Deen and its Da’wa carriers, for the establishment of the second Khilafah Ar-Rashida inshaAllah.

We also pray to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) to honour us with the Ajr (reward) of re-establishing the Khilafah; it fills his eyes and chest, seeing it as if it is right before him. We gives glad tidings of its imminence as his eyes look out to its coming: Victory from Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and a soon-coming conquest, and the Pleasure of Allah is a far superior reward; the glad tidings will be for the Believers.

“We will give victory to our Messengers and those who believe in the worldly life and on the day witnesses stand (the afterlife)” [Ghaafir: 51]

We send their congratulations and warm wishes on this blessed month, asking Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) to accept our fasts, our Qiyam, our Rukoo’, our Sujood and all our other good deeds.

O Allah, allow us to complete Ramadhan and do not exclude us from its reward; O Allah, make us amongst those saved by You on this month of forgiveness and good things; O Allah, allow us to witness the night of Al-Qadar and honour us with its reward; O Allah, unify the Islamic Ummah and gather her under the shade of the flag of Al-‘Uqab, the flag of the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam). Slm Alkm Dear Muslims,
These words brought tears into my eyes.
Yesterday while breaking fast at the Masjid,by chance opportunity felt on me and I gathered with 2 brothers from Somali Community and Ethiopian Community – I looked them all and this is what I had to say “This is how we are going to be raised in the day of Judgement – as Muslims, followers of Nabii Muhammad SAW, we are not going to be raised based on our nationalities, colour of skins or size of our nose” – brothers looked at each other and look at me and said “Sahih” – my heart was full of joy and I made duah for the Muslims to uplift their worldly differences and stand together against Kufar and their system.Islam is great religion. This is what we need to implement in our day to day life “Unity of Muslims” regardless of Kufar man made boarders.
    RAmadhan Karim.
May Allah accept those are in the path, May Allah grant freedom to all Muslim prisoners,May Allah accept our good deeds in this Month of Ramadan, May give us ability and courage to go into front line to defend Islam.

Assalamualaykum to all and Ramazan Mubarak. Thank you Sheikh Anwar for your reminder, may Allah help all of our brothers and sisters all around the world who are struggling in any way in the path of The Almighty Allah, and may Allah accept me for the strggle of his deen and give me steadfastness. Just a note to you sheikh to say that I was ‘away’ from this deen for a long time and happen to come across your lecture on the seerat of the Prphet(PBUH), it impacted me, by the grace of Allah, in such a way that I am now becoming more closer to our glorious deen, and pray to Allah for more understanding and steadfastness on his Prophets(PBUH) religion, my only reason for mentioning this is so you know that your efforts are so beneficial to so many, I ask Allah to give you steadfastness and bless you and your family, and make dua that I am able to meet you in this life and have the oppurtunity to do ‘Baith’ on your hand. Ameen.

    Asalam Aleikhum my beloved Muslims,
I have noticed many beautiful duah are pouring. May Allah SWT accept our duah.
    Dear Brother Anwar,
I heard from one of the akhi’s lecture that among the best Muslims who acted rapidly upon the call of Struggle are originated or are from Yemen. Mashallah.
Another person mentioned, if its the matter of acquiring the knowledge of Islam, Yemen is the place. Another friend who came from dubai also recommended Yemen is the only Arab country is not fully corrupted by Western culture.
I met a brother from Yemen, he told me in his village, the time of a prayer everyone rushed to the Mosque.
I have seen your video Ramadhan in brief but that was when you were in USA, how is Ramadhan like in Yemen? I am sure myself and other readers would like to know how is Ramadhan in Yemen. I am sure there is rich Islamic culture that still exist.
    Shukran Brother,
    Ramadhan Karim.
    Asalam Aleikhum.

as wr wb, and ramadhan kareem to all the muslims. i like to address a short point or two with regards to the up coming event in which imam anwar will participate via video conference. i would like to let the sheikh know about 1 man in particular who will also take part in the event, known as ” lord nazeer ahmed”, neither is he nazeer or ahmed, as a way of advice i like to bring to the sheikhs attention some issues about him which i dont think the sheiklh is aware of, firstly he called upon the british government to ARREST some sheikhs and duaats in the uk and still does to this day when ever we have some high profile arrests in th uk so i dont know what benefit such a khanzeer can bring in a event high lighting muslims being arrested worldwide, secondly he has given support many times to the government against muslims, thirdly he is a hard core secular and nationalistic person, forthly by his title alone we can get a picture about him and finally he has been declared murtad openly many years agon. my aim to mention these points to bring to imam anwars attention who is going to be on the same platform as him, as ahlus sunnah we do not even support ahlul bidah let alone with someone far far away from the deen of Allah, i can understand if he was a devient muslim and we got his support on some vital issues but he is worse than that not even good denough to be called a devient muslim. i hope the sheikh can clarify and understand where me and many many muslims in the uk are coming from. my advice to our shiekh is simple dont let your clothes get dirty with his treachery from within,

To Abu Hafs and others who have sent me emails regarding my participation at the Cageprisoners event which also features a member of the British house of Lords:
First of all I am not going to be physically present at the event since I do not travel but would be doing my talk over the phone from Yemen. But still since I am participating in the event I would like to clarify my position on this issue to remove any doubts that may arise:
I follow the opinion that the participation in the British house of Lords or any of the equivalent bodies that legislate laws beside the law of Allah elsewhere in the world is a form of shirk and kufr.
The fact that I happen to be speaking at an event that includes a member of the House of Lords that claims to be Muslim does not mean that I approve of such an act in any shape or form.
Jazakum Allahu khairan to all those who turned my attention to this since I only came to know about it after my agreement to participate in the event.

    As’salamualykum wa Rahatullah Ramadan Mubarak!
I came accross these dua’as, and I hope inshAllah everyone can benefit from them.
1.How a Muslim should praise another Muslim:
If any of you praises his companion then let him say :

    ‘Ahsibu fulaanan wallaahu haseebuhu

I consider (such and such a person) , and Allah is his Assessor ,

    wa laa ‘uzakkee ‘alallaahi ‘ahadan

(meaning : and I cannot claim anyone to be pious before Allah) if you know of this (good character trait in the person) to be such and such (saying what he thinks is praiseworthy in that person).
    Reference: Muslim 4/2296.

2.What a Muslim should say when he is praised:
Allaahumma laa tu’aakhithnee bimaa yaqooloona, waghfir lee maa laa ya’lamoona [waj'alnee khayram-mimmaa yadhunnoon].

O Allah , do not call me to account for what they say and forgive me for what they have no knowledge of [and make me better than they imagine].

Reference: Al-Bukhari, Al-’Adabul-Mufrad no. 761. See Al-Albani, Sahih Al-’Adabul-Mufrad (no. 585). The portion between brackets if from Al-Bayhaqi, Shu’ab Al-Iman 4/228, and comes another account.

Go and work to bring back your sister Aafia.

This is no time to discuss such irrelevant issues.Remember Ali[may Allah be pleased with him] allowed Khawarijites to join in the war against Ummayids who rose against his Khilafah.

Its allowed in war to fight alongside even with a kafir as long as he does’nt attacks you.Lord Nazir though deviant has not attacked Aafia.

    Remember this is WAR.

    WAR is of many types.

Verily, your Lord knows that you do stand (to pray at night) a little less than two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and also a party of those with you. And Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are unable to pray the whole night, so He has turned to you (in mercy). So, recite of the Qur’an as much as may be easy for you. He knows that there will be some among you sick, others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah’s bounty, yet others fighting in Allah’s Cause. So recite as much of the Qur’an as may be easy (for you), and perform As-Salat (the prayers) and give Zakat (obligatory charity), and lend to Allah a goodly loan. Whatever good you send before you for yourselves (i.e Nawafil-non obligatority acts of worship:prayers, charity, fasting, Hajj and Umra), you will certainly find it with Allah, better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
