A Muslim for the Sake of the Disbelievers

I recently recieved this email from a brother:
Aassalamualaikum sheikh. i loved your works, enjoyed and learned from them. i do desire to become one of the mujahideen but not as you describe. i desire to become a mujahid in da’wah and learning and believe this is the right path. I heard and read some of your views on what the muslims should do and belive them not to be true. i think you should review your works and when you find the true path, apologize about your previous works. jihad cant be the right path because this is a religion of peace and if we go around killing everyone, it would be wrong for us to call this religion a religion of peace. what the muslims should do is evacuate palistine and afghanistan and continue with the da’wah and the
rest is with ALLAH inshalah.
Just like there is a Muslim for the sake of Allah, there is a new phenomenon of a Muslim for the sake of the disbelievers. And just like the Muslim for the sake of Allah does everything thinking what will Allah will think of me, the Muslim for the sake of the disbelievers does everything thinking what the disbelievers would think of him. So when a Muslim speaks out he does so to please Allah and when our other Muslim does not speak out he does so in order to please the disbelievers. When a Muslim fights he does so for the sake of Allah and when this other Muslim does not fight -even though he has every reason to do so- he does that in order not to displease the disbelievers. Obviously this is not expressed as such but is packaged in nice terms such as ‘this is not good for dawa’, or ‘this would turn away the people from Islam’.
Allah says: “It is not your responsibility to guide people but it is Allah who guides whomever He wills”
This Muslim is obsessed with his image in front of the disbelievers. He is so obsessed with it that it becomes his standard for wala and bara. So he loves the Muslims who present the ‘good boy’ image to the disbelievers and he despises the Muslims who give Muslims a ‘bad name’.
Rasulullah (saaws) says: One of you does not achieve full Imaan until he loves for Allah, dislikes for Allah, gives for Allah and holds back for Allah.
This Muslim is so aggressive and intolerant with his fellow Muslims but is tolerant and kind towards the disbelievers. He is an extremist with Muslims and a moderate with disbelievers.
Whenever the interests of the disbelievers are threatened or harmed by Muslims he is the first to jump to their defense. He would speak against his brothers and betray them. He may even advise Muslims to spy against one another and report to the authorities. For him fighting for Islam, and for the ummah is terrorism, but he manages to shop for a fatwa that would allow him to serve in the armies of the disbelievers and fight against his brothers. Being a Muslim for the sake of the disbelievers permeates his every action. If he meets a Muslim he frowns and if he meets a disbeliever his face beams with a smile.
Infact there are some Muslims who are so much Muslim for the sake of kuffar that they do not even like Muslims who call the kuffar kuffar!
I mentioned that this is a new phenomenon because this only came about in these later times. The Muslims of the early times would care less about the kuffar, and if they ever did it was for the sake of Allah and not for their sake.
But lets put things in proper perspective:
Allah says about the disbelievers: “They are like cattle, nay, they are even more misguided”
And Rasulullah says about the believer: “Tearing down al Kaaba stone by stone is less than shedding the blood of a Muslim”

I’ve been living (studying) in UK for more than 6 years and I’ve been seeing it in the brothers’ lives and in their speeches. I could name these jamaats but everybody knows about them. we tried to explain them but didn’t want to accept it. when we gave them nasihah they said we are fundamentalists and radicals. I have listened all of your talks and wanted to ask you if you could address specificly about this topic. may Allah swt help you in your da’wah and guide us to his right path.

May Allah make us those who please him and is pleased with us and merciful to the (true) believers and harsh against the disbelievers. on a side note, just earlier today in kaylula(not long after i listneed to your lectures on dreams) i had a dream where i was in place that was all dark but the sky was clear, there was a path the curved around the corner and it was on a edge where there was a big lake that was all murky water. i was walkin along it and you (imam anwar) were walkin infront of me wearing a big robe, i started to slide to the edge of the path and eventually slipped into the water, for sum reason i was worrying about my phone in my pocket incase it got wet. anyway i fell in the water and it looked safe but i heard people saying get out! get out quickly! at that time u had stopped and turned back and waited for me at the top while i climbed back up and continued walkin on your path. InshaAllah i hope theres nothing to worry about and that its khair. anyway i just thought id mention it. jazak Allah khair wasallamou alykum

Allah-u-Akbar! Subhanallah an excellent + accurate account of the sort of muslims we have today in the West. I have come across many here in the UK (unfortunately the majority) who are too busy trying to please the kuffar + their justification is for ‘dawah purposes’. I am always attacked by these muslims for defending the mujahideen + glorifying their operations + position! Unfortunately these muslims hate to have any obstacles in their comfortable lives in the West + just want to live passively without sacrifice fee sabeelillah! They dislike jihad +anyone who ‘tarnishes’ their image in front of the kuffar to whom they are slaves in reality.
Jazakallah khair for you comments + may Allah swt shower his blesings upon you in this dunya + reward u in the akhirah. May Allah swt elevate the status of our mujahideen brothers fighting the enemies of Islam + choose us to join the fight. Ameen

Asalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatulahi Wa Barakatuhu dear Imam Anwar and my brothers and sisters in Islam:

The RAND Mozlem phenomenon is real and it is noticeable in every corner of the globe especially in the western secular democratic “godless” societies. How this RAND Mozlem think is just and the same of the ideas of the Kuffar. Sheikh Anwar’s answer to the comments of this RAND Mozlemz needs to be engraved in the hearts of all Muslims today. In practice, this means, for example, that we uphold Al-wala wal-bara as the Sheikh stated in his reply. Also, as Sheikh ul-Islam ibn Taimiyyah (Rahimullah) says:
“The testimony of Shahadah, there is no god but Allah, requires you to love only for the sake of Allah, to hate only for the sake of Allah, to ally yourself only for the sake of Allah, to declare enmity only for the sake of Allah; it requires you to love what Allah loves and to hate what Allah hates.” ibn Taimiyyah, al-Ihtijaj bil-Qadar, 6.

In practice this also means that we do not view or strive to understand Islam through the ideas of the kuffar – that is, that we do not use their kaffir terms, ideas or concepts to describe and understand Islam. Thus we reject their terms such as “extremism”, “moderate”, “ideology”, “terrorism”, “peace” and “religion”, and come to know Islam for the perfect, complete Way of Life that it is – a Way that thus rejects the Kuffar Manufactured Laws of democracy, of “human rights”, and refers everything, for judgement, to the Quran and Sunnah: to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and His Messenger (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

Thus, we think as a Muslim – we think Muslim: we do not think as the kuffar think, in their flawed, ignorant, terms, concepts and ideas. For indeed Allah Azza Wa Jall Says:

“And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous.”

We as true Muslims should participate in Jihad Fee Sibililah that is already in force, or at the very least support, the Mujahideen in Afganistan, Philistine, Somalia, and Pakistan and around the globe for, as Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says:
“Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors.
-
And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
-
And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
-
Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.
-
[Fighting in] the sacred month is for [aggression committed in] the sacred month, and for [all] violations is legal retribution. So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.
-
And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.

In the Qur’an many verses clearly show the importance of Jihad and Qital (struggling for the sake of Allah and fighting for the sake of Allah Azza Wa Jall) in the life of a Muslim and urges the believers to take part in this noble duty. Allah mentions jihad in conjunction with Imaan or belief, paradise and His pleasure. Any person who claims to be a sincere believer in Allah should understand the obligation of jihad.

In addition, it was authentically reported that the Prophet (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) said:
-
“If anyone meets Allah with no mark of Jihad, he will meet Allah with a flaw in him.” Al-Tirmidhi 3835, Narrated Abu Hurayrah

Jihad will continue against the kuffar until we have removed them from our lands, freed all Muslim prisoners, and established the Word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says:

“O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion – Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

Your ally is none but Allah and [therefore] His Messenger and those who have believed – those who establish prayer and give zakah, and they bow [in worship].
-
And whoever is an ally of Allah and His Messenger and those who have believed – indeed, the party of Allah – they will be the predominant.
-
O you who have believed, take not those who have taken your religion in ridicule and amusement among the ones who were given the Scripture before you nor the disbelievers as allies. And fear Allah, if you should [truly] be believers.
-
And when you call to prayer, they take it in ridicule and amusement. That is because they are a people who do not use reason.
-
Say, “O People of the Scripture, do you resent us except [for the fact] that we have believed in Allah and what was revealed to us and what was revealed before and because most of you are defiantly disobedient?”
-
Say, “Shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that as penalty from Allah? [It is that of] those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He became angry and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghut. Those are worse in position and further astray from the sound way.”

Sheykh mashallah you’ve spoken on my behalf, and i my self have received similar views from some brothers when engaged in religious conversation and the subject of how should we deal with the “kufar” arises. But not in that context of this email but in the context of ” don’t worry about it, worry about your self and appreciate the rights and freedom of speech you are given by this country “Australia” and just let it be”
This certain individual obviously values his life dearly and is clever enough to put in these terms “i do desire to become one of the mujahideen but not as you describe” . He very much enjoys the world of materialism and upholds the view of western democracy to be the savior of any civilized world. Which by the way as we all know the concept of democracy first appeared in Ancient Greek political and philosophical thought. The philosopher Plato contrasted democracy, the system of “rule by the governed”, with the alternative systems of monarchy (rule by one individual), oligarchy (rule by a small élite class) and timarchy (rule by one race or nationality over another). Although Athenian democracy is today considered by many to have been a form of direct democracy, originally it had two distinguishing features: firstly the allotment (selection by lot) of ordinary citizens to government offices and courts, and secondarily the assembly of all the citizens. All the Athenian citizens were eligible to speak and vote in the Assembly, which set the laws of the city-state, but neither political rights, nor citizenship, were granted to WOMEN, SLAVES, or METICS a person who did not have citizen rights in their Greek city state. Of the 250,000 inhabitants only some 30,000 on average were citizens. Of those 30,000 perhaps 5,000 might regularly attend one or more meetings of the popular Assembly. Most of the officers and magistrates of Athenian government were allotted; only the generals (strategoi) and a few other officers were elected. Having said all that , one come to the conclusion about what we told and shoved down into our throats about democracy turns out to be false and is only a system that is cleverly designed, arranged and marketed so to serve merely “aristocrats” which benefit from the status-quo.But as they always do, they’ve refined it and altered just like they did with all the great books that was sent down to them and made it appeal to their own wishful thinking and to the masses.
Further more, he has even got the nerve to suggest that “what the muslims should do is evacuate palistine”, he exemplifies evrything that is wrong with the ummah today, why the ummah is half brain dead and is brain washed by western media and objectionalised posters that makes the muslim youth idolize rubish rap groups and stick figured photshoped women. I would go as far as to say that he is not a muslim, and it ouldn’t surprise me if this individual was actually not even a muslim but just feels the urge to jump on any islamic blog to stir up an argument and put forward some deviation thoughts. But i do not want to in this case to fall into their trap and attribute my self with their characteristic, making fall assumptions and accusations.They never open their mouths without subtracting from the sum of human knowledge and some cause happiness wherever they go like sahab may allah be pleased with them ; and others whenever they go like the crusades, so to the ignorant individ i who uttered such bullock go and commit suicide and die for no reason.

this is my first posting. Last two years I have been listening to your CDs. I found them very enlightening a nd believe made an effect.
I read your post but couldn’t quite agree.
It is not pleasing or displeasing the kuffar but dawa should be in a way that attract them. We need to embrace them to bring to the fold. It does not mean compromising islamic values and ethics but adopt ways to make them know what is in Islam.
Jihadees, I do not know if they are active in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq or elsewhere whith their spears or arms but real Jihadees should be who uphold the true spirit of Islam to make this world peaceful for all. This is what I have learnt from Omar and Abu Bakar’s (ra) biography narrated by yourself.
Goods news is few muslims who are quietly but surely making a dent in the non muslim community. I consider them as real Jehadees.

I respectfuly disagree Sh. Anwar, I have been active in Interfaith after 9/11 and am now in the local Interfaith council Board. I spend most of my time with this group of good people who are peaceful and supportive of our muslim community here in USA.
I always invite the council members to our Islamic center for lectures ” Children of Abrahim” we invite non-muslims for Eid/Ramdan Dinners, we even visit their churches, synagougs and hindu-budhist temples and join in prayers and they in ours. Its a good oppurtunity for Dawah.
I am strongly against any deviant muslim sects like tableeqis, Shias , Nation of Islam etc., and we dont have them come or do their activities in our center as much as we can.
We deal with FBI and goverment agencies proactively, like CREST prog. and we encourage the community to read newer translations of Quran that are more in line with modern days and diplomatic with non-muslims (does not calls them Jews/Christians) monkeys etc in the translation, We also run free clinic, Kitchen soup and Dawah for non-muslims in the area. I have a good grip on the Islamic Center Board Members and my close Brothers and wife control the Administration. We dont have Islamic School but runs active Sunday school, I personaly do not see the need for a full time Islamic school as we have to learn to get used to the western environment and teach our kids to blend in. I don’t believe we should live as an isolated community since we are here for a permanent stay.
Islam is flexible and fit for all times and all places based on Ijtihaad and what is best for majority muslim community.
I am sorry to see you have fixed yourself on far right, please don’t become too extreame, Islam is the moderate middle path peace loving religion. Our Ummah has to stay with the “Jammah” most scholary of today do not agree with your opinions as stated in your blog.

I would have responded to that e-mail by posting ALL the appropriate ayaat and ahadeeth on the subject however, you have done that time and time again in your lectures.
Its absolutely pathetic how people try to pass off what little they are doing as jihad, ‘oh, my work is my jihad’ ‘giving da’wah is my jihad’ the reality is that these kinds of people arent even involved in much if any islamic work.
May Allah swt make us of the taifah mansuurah who do not fear the blame of the blamers and may Allah swt protect out beloved imam anwar al awlaki ameen!

we are having problems! our shuyuukh are being deported one after the other!
and i am talking about the cream of the crop and i am not basing this on their knowledge of deen but rather their zeal in their da’awah.
we as the youth are really concerned! we will certainly be devoured by the wolf since the first cow is slowly being forsaken! ( yes sheikh, you have an audience in Kenya too )
My question to you sheikh is, what should we do?
Some of our imaams are keeping quiet about all these issues.
The muslim youth in Kenya are starting to become quite diligent towards their deen, alhamdulillaah and may Allah continue guiding them, ameen!

It was regarding absolute obedience to parents. If a brother needs help (say testifying in a court so your testimony helps you to release the prisoner) but your parents disapprove…do you have to listen to them?

Some people want to be religious more than the religion itself.May Allah always keep all believers safe from going astray & going into extremes.
They want to bring people to the fold of Islam ,that which is watered down version.Its like follow some commandments and leave some commandments as long as one sticks to Shahadah but Allah does’nt leaves believers until he seperates good from evil.
The problem is their confusion about presenting the Dawah which is based on incomplete knowledge of deen.
So many Prophets[alaisalaam] cursed their people for their mischief & not believing yet Islam is a religion of peace.So many people of past were destroyed by Allah subhanawatala for their mischief and not believing yet Islam is indeed deen of peace.Islam is the deen of peace and to bring peace fighting is required.Fighting against evil and evildoers with hand,tongue or hateing them in heart which this is least of the faith.The nice way to spread Islam to establish Khilafah via Jihad and show the disbelievers Islam completely established so that they know the benefits of living under the laws of Allah and then embrace Islam.

I do have a question that inshaallah i am hoping you can clarify for me, as my desire is to do only what is pleasing to Allah (SWT)! From my (very limited) understanding, the sahaba were forbidden from killing women, children, elderly, and innocent bistandards during the battle of badr. Is this correct? Also, if it is correct, then how do we justify the mujahideens actions against the “average” person (for example 9-11… assuming that the Muslims were even responsible for that). Can you clarify rules of engagement?

To M Haque, I am a firm believer in Dawa and that we are required to convey the message of Rasoolulah saws but tell me does spreading knowledge to the nonbeliever come before the shedding blood of your brother and sister in Islam. And that’s exactly what’s happening now, our sisters raped, killed, slaughtered, their children killed in front of them, their daughters raped, their son’s killed and we sit here watching and giving dawah to the non believers while they plot against us!!!
First Khutbah
I advise you, as well as myself, to fear Allaah in times of prosperity and misfortune, in secret and in public: “O mankind! Worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous.” (Al Baqarah: 21).
O people! When a person meditates upon the histories of past nations and populations, he will be instantly amazed at the revolutions and transformations they went through. For instance, there was a pioneering nation (i.e., the Muslim nation) which led the world for many centuries but then, it faltered and lost its leading role; it fell in the midst of blind imitation and followed the paths of other nations in terms of manners and beliefs. Once it was at the acme of development and reached the highest level of power and glory, but it later fell to the lowest point and was afflicted with misery. It died after it had been living, deteriorated after it was once flourishing and withered after it was blossoming. It was the nation that discovered the sources of knowledge and developed the Islaamic civilization and sciences, which the West later obtained significantly, without having to exert the least of efforts. Thus it seems as if the gates towards progress had been shut off for the Muslims as they turned into artificial consumers of the Western civilization. They even began to adopt certain features of it, which were originally theirs but had been stolen away from them.
O Muslims! When a Muslim blindly imitates the West, he turns into a loyal supporter of their beliefs and customs; he is like one who tries to reform something but spoils it while he is unaware. He is just like a defeated follower, like a baby who bites and severs his mother’s breast while it is in his mouth. Such a person does not know that blind copying of the West involves hidden hazards and that our rights, honor and dignity are violated by such imitation and imbecilic pride.
O Muslims! The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “You will imitate the nations before you very closely to the extent that if they went into a lizard’s hole, you would enter it as well” his companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, inquired: “(Do you mean) the Jews and Christians, O Messenger of Allaah?” He sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam replied: “Who else?” (Bukhaari & Muslim). The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam also said: “The Day of Judgment will not come until my Nation closely imitates the nations before them.” It was asked: “Like the Persians and Romans, Messenger of Allaah?” He sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam replied: “Who are the nations (I could mean) except those?” (Bukhaari).
The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam foretold that some of his nation will imitate the People of the Book, namely the Jews and Christians, as well as other non-Arabs, namely the Persians and Romans. Allaah says that which means: “[You disbelievers are] like those before you; they were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. They enjoyed their portion [of worldly enjoyment], and you have enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion, and you have engaged [in vanities] like that in which they engaged…” (At-Tawbah: 69). Ibn ‘Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with him, commented on this verse by saying: “These are the Children of Israel that we will imitate.” Ibn Mas’ood, may Allaah be pleased with him, also said in this regard: “You are closely similar to the Children of Israel as far as outside appearance and manners are concerned, but I do not know whether you will worship the calf (as they did) or not.”
O servants of Allaah! The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam used to prohibit imitating other nations. It is worth mentioning that these traditions do not indicate that the entire Muslim nation will commit this sin as he sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam also foretold that a group of his nation will continue to stick to the Straight Path until the Day of Judgment.
The Muslims constitute the most guided and well-mannered nation in this life; and on the Day of Judgment Allaah will make them witnesses over all other nations as He says that which means: “And thus We have made you a median [i.e., just] community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you…” (Al-Baqarah: 143). Indeed, this is a very prestigious position. How is it, then, that Muslims imitate others in their customs, traditions and feasts? The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam even forbade the Muslims from acquiring religious information from the People of the Book; once, ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab, may Allaah be pleased with him, was reading some parts of one of the scriptures of the People of the Book to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, so he got angry and said: “I have conveyed to you a clear religion. Do not ask them (the People of the Book) about anything, for they may tell you the truth while you belie them or they may lie and you might believe them. I swear by Him in Whose Hands is my soul, if Moosaa was alive, he would not have any choice but to follow me.” (Ahmad & Ibn Abi Shaybah).
Allaah made human beings and all other creatures accustomed to interacting with their similar counterparts. When the degree of similarity increases, such interaction and hence imitation in morals and characteristics becomes more complete, until it is hardly possible to distinguish between them. Accordingly, human beings are affected by each other and acquire each other’s traits through cohabitation and imitation. It is also known that if a human being stays in the company of a certain type of animal, he would pick up some of its features; that is why, for example, those who tend camels are known for their pride and arrogance, while shepherds are known to be humble and calm, whereas those who raise both camels and mules acquire some of the bad attributes of both. Similarly, a domestic animal acquires some human characteristics, such as the ability to live with others.
Furthermore, when a person puts on the clothes usually worn by scholars, he may feel himself as somehow closer to them, because similarity and imitation in outward appearance leads to resemblance in inward characteristics such as personal characteristics and morals, as is witnessed in reality and is confirmed by Islaamic jurisprudence and common sense. In the old times, it was said: ‘Birds of a feather flock together’; this is a realistic proverb which conforms to the manner in which Allaah has formed His creation. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam spoke the truth when he said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” (Ahmad & Abu Dawood)
Shaykh Al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allaah have mercy on him, said: “We have seen that the degree of polytheism is less in those Jews and Christians who reside with Muslims, and that the degree of faith in the Muslims who have dealt extensively with the Jews and Christians is lesser than that of the pious Muslims.”
O servants of Allaah! Imitating polytheists and atheists in their clothing, customs, rules, politics and economics has become widespread among many Muslims to a very large extent, so much so that the one who blindly imitates and tries to Westernize might even be respected by the foolish masses and the youth, including the rich, intellectuals and even the poor, who are attracted to such a person. Woe to imitation and subordination! What weighty and oppressive constraints they have! What a dark path theirs is! What a great loss for whoever follows them!
Yes, woe to imitating and following the West! It has trapped some Muslim generations in the dark, narrow prisons of subordination and dependence, and prevented them from thinking, meditating and heading for glory. It has blocked the means to the real happiness of their souls.
Woe to imitation and dependence! They are obstacles for the intellects and prevent everything that may revive them.
The Muslim Nation should lead, not be led; others should depend on us and not the reverse. Our Nation should not be deceived by the artificial adornments possessed by some devastated people, as Allaah says that which means: “And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more lasting.” (Taa-Haa: 131).
The Western civilization is like a mirage, which, when seen from a distance is like a large sea, but it is as Allaah says which means: “But the disbelievers – their deeds are like a mirage in a lowland which a thirsty one thinks is water until, when he comes to it, he finds it is nothing but finds Allaah before him, and He will pay him in full his due; and Allaah is swift in account.” (An-Noor: 39).
The weak and ignorant Muslims, who try to remodel the principles of our nation through imitation, should know that even though such temporal morals may ruin some of the deeply rooted ones, they will never remain or become innate. If some people believe that our nation must change its ways for development, then let it be known that our resorting to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam is the best means for change. Allaah says that which means: “…Indeed, Allaah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allaah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.” (Ar-Ra`d: 11).
If we embrace the means to be powerful, stick to deep-rooted principles such as strong will, piety, courage and Islaamic zeal and adhere to our distinctive code of life which indicates that we are religious and ethical people, what harm would we get from it? Are these not the true Islaamic morals? Are there any other solid foundations for progress besides them? Allaah says that which means: “[And say, ‘Ours is] the religion of Allaah. And who is better than Allaah in [ordaining] religion? And we are worshippers of Him’” (Al-Baqarah: 138) and also: “[Say], ‘Then is it other than Allaah I should seek as judge while it is He who has revealed to you the Book [i.e., the Qur’aan] explained in detail?’…” (Al-An’aam: 114)
However, if we are to adopt foreign customs and traditions alien to our religion, from the West, we should remember that Islaam is Islaam and polytheism is polytheism, and that they live in one hemisphere and we live in another. We were the masters before we assumed these Western traditions that ruined the free Muslim nation – its men and especially its women, who have rushed after the unknown in a breathless attempt to imitate the West. They are amazed by the eye-catching products of its industries and have followed its disgraceful women to the extent that their clothes became almost the same as those of Western models. When you see any Muslim woman wearing a dress barely covering her private parts, you should know that this is an example of their kind of clothing. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said about such women: “I have seen none lacking in common sense and failing in religion and (at the same time) robbing the wisdom of wise men, besides you (women).” (Bukhaari & Muslim).
This is why when Allaah says that which means: “…and amended for him [i.e., Zakariyya] his wife…” (Al-Anbiyaa’: 90) it denotes that He thereby bestowed much grace upon Zakariyya, peace be upon him: He also says which means, “…So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allaah would have them guard…” (An-Nisaa’: 34)
O Muslims! The restrictions imposed by our religion on the human being are not meant to torture or deprive him from the pleasures of this life. Rather, their aim is to elevate him from mere animalism to complete humanity. Thus, a Muslim will become capable of overcoming subservience and dependence, and his faith and piety will overpower animalistic lusts.
Whenever a society ignores such restrictions or belittles them, it jeopardizes and opens itself to serious problems and positions itself on the brink of destruction, as Allaah says that which means: “…And whoever transgresses the limits of Allaah – it is those who are the wrongdoers [i.e., the unjust]” (Al-Baqarah: 229) and also: “…And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allaah? Indeed, Allaah does not guide the wrongdoing people.” (Al-Qasas: 50).
Second Khutbah
Our Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam prohibited whatever acts lead to the imitation of the polytheists to such an extent that one of the Jews said about him: “This man does not wish to set aside any of our affairs until he acts in nonconformity with it.” (Muslim).
It is also reported that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam forbade Muslims from offering prayers after dawn until the sun rises and following the afternoon prayer until sunset. He explained that the sun rises and sets between the horns of the devil and at this time, the polytheists prostrate before it. It is well-known that a believer never prostrates himself to anything except Allaah; most people may not even be aware that the sun rises and sets between the horns of the devil and that the polytheists prostrate before it, yet, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam commanded Muslims not to pray at this time so as not to imitate the polytheists in any way.
Imitating the People of the Book and the non-Arab polytheists will surely lead to some degree of affection towards them. For this reason also, imitation is prohibited in order to block the way before such love transpires and to prevent allegiance to them; this is aside from the legal evidences that prohibit such imitation.
It is plainly evident that some people who copy the polytheists in their clothes, manners, traditions or speak their language, harbor love and admiration for them. In this way, the polytheists succeed in disseminating ideas such as globalization and a universal religion which affect some sick-hearted Muslims; all of these aim at weakening the Muslim character and identity. Whenever a person objects to such ideas, he is labeled as an introvert, an isolationist and even a narrow-minded person alienated from this world and who should have died in his cradle.
Such people seem to ask why the bells of churches do not chime along with the minarets reverberating “Allaah is the Greatest.” They ask why there are not many religions being practiced in the Arabian Peninsula, but they forget or seem to forget that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “There must not be two religions in the Arabian Peninsula.” (Maalik & Ahmad).
Allaah says that which means: “And never will the Jews and the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say: ‘Indeed, the guidance of Allaah is the [only] guidance.’ If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allaah no protector or helper.” (Al-Baqarah: 120). He also says that which means: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike…” (An-Nisaa’: 89).

May you continue to produce materials that propagate the truth and expose those so called Muslims that follow the ways of the disbelievers. It is a shame reading the comments of some of the contributors, it just highlights the degrading state of the Muslim ummah. We do not carry the basic understandings of Islam, and ayats such as surah Yusuf becomes very clear when Allah talks about the so called believers being Mushrikeens. The correct Islam term for one who engages in Jihad is “Mujahid”.

We do not hold nationalistic ideas, nor do we participate in un-Islamic cultural baggage; we do not accused people baselessly nor do we attack the righteous heroes of the Ummah nor lie about them to the Kuffar. We are not with the party of Satan, nor are we with does that terrorize, massacre and torture people like Firoun and his gangs who followed him to this very day. We belief in Justice and the rule of Allah’s Law: the Shariah and the Hudud; and we do not have beliefs in so call “civil democratic Islam”. I think you should listen to the life of Umar(ra) by Shaykh Anwar again because I think you have completely misunderstood it. There are clear cut examples of people who said they would leave Islam or would not enter if they wouldn’t have there way and Umar(ra) did not even care. Jihad when mentioned is a word that implies fighting according to the Fuquha and that is its primary understanding. People who sit around and play politics and appease and please the kuffar are not Jihadees rather Munafiqeen. It is Allah who guides people to Islam. Yes, there are rules and regulations of dawah but none of these encompass doing dawah based upon what the Kuffar might think or say. We do dawah based upon what Allah and His Messenger (saws) have said regardless of what anyone thinks Muslim or Kafir.

Alhamdulillah. May Allah reward you. I ask Allah that he produce many from this ummah who speak the truth and remain steadfast on that. I ask Allah to witness that i am with the muslims who love for the sake of Him (s.w.a) and hate for His sake (s.w.a). I am disassociated from those who have taken the religion for mockery and have taken legislation from mankind. Rasulullah has said, as he was ordered by Allah, that we must fight; Rasulullah did fight himself and anybody who believes that they are wiser than the messenger of Allah, who did not speak from his desires (everything he said was revelation), then this person has taken a path other than Islam. Our religion comes from Allah and the messenger He has sent – and our opinion and our beliefs. If anybody thinks that he can reason a new, innovated conclusion, then this person has taken a path other than Islam. The person who opposed the view of Jihad has believed his own self over the messenger. Allah say “Nay, by you Lord, you will never believe until you make Him judge in all of your matters!”. Allah says “Say, if you truly love Allah, then follow me (Muhammad s.a.w); Allah will love you and expiate from you your sins”. So my advice to those with a strange belief in dawa is this: Rasulullah loved Allah and gave the best dawa and this messege was carried to us by him. And Rasulullah did fight and he did call the disbelievers kuffar. Therefore, if we are to follow his way, we must do what he did. And if we wish to follow another religion; maybe Gandi’s religion or Christianity, we do what they do. And if we wish to follow our own new religion and make new rules for that religion – rules such as: “In my new religion we will only preach and not fight – we will ignore the prophet Muhammads legislation and fashion our own commands”, in this case we can not market this religion as Islam. Indeed, if those who say that we should evacuate lands and not fight truly believe this then let them follow that – but that is not Al-Islam. And those who believe that we should fight for the sake of Allah and protect the lands of the muslims, they are the believers, as this injunction came from the messenger – and this is Al-Islam.

Salam, was it not the prophet (saw) who told the companions not to kill the hypocrites because he didn’t want the kufar saying that Muhammed kills his companions? I think the difference is that we should not abandon an obligation due to what the kuffar think, but matters which are not binding should be thought about in terms of maslahah for Islam and Muslims. The Muslims have a responsibility to fight injustice and tyranny more so than any other group, Our Ummah is responsible for keeping the cosmic balance of the world, we are the keepers of the justly balance, enjoining good and forbidding evil, whether the disbelievers like it or not, we must follow the will of Allah no matter how much we are ridiculed and labeled by the disbelievers as ignorant, fanatic and violent. We must not settle with the low standards of morality brought upon us by so called modernity and progress, just so we can please the unbelievers, just so we can fit.

Just like there is a Muslim for the sake of Allah, there is a new phenomenon of a Muslim for the sake of the disbelievers.
But there is more. Just like there is a Muslim for the sake of Allah, there there is yet a third phenomenon of Muslim: For the sake of spreading falsehood and self-serving ego and dissimulation.

ASA M… you said “kindness just will not work on kafirs of today” and to correct you if we thought you were wrong.
I’m only going to offer my own opinion in that do what Allah and his Rasool (SAW) said/did… which is convey the message and leave the rest upto Allah. You may be aware of the Hadith in relation to the revelation of surah Kafiroon… please understand that I am not a scholar but a humble student… my understanding is that Allah has put a seal on the hearts of some people and no matter what we do will not change them until Allah wants to. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was told by Allah in such a case to worry only about conveying the message and leave the rest to Allah. As for being kind to kuffar, note that a muslim should be kind in general anyway, it is a good characteristic of a believer to be kind however when faced with oppression and oppressors, we are also commanded to fight oppression in all its forms until it is no more and peace prevails.
To sum up in brief, we all need to do what Allah commands and follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and how he dealt with the non-believers (kuffar).
All thanks are to Allah and his Rasool and also to our brother Imam Anwar for conveying the message. What I have learned is from my parents when I was young and then what I have learned since then from all the wonderful brothers, to name some, Sheikh Ahmad Deedat (may Allah grant him a place close to Him in Jannah), Dr. Zakir Naik, and Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki to name just 3 but there are others too… oh and Sheikh Khalid Yasin also.
Have Patience… the Victory of Allah is coming.
Their are many “sheikhs” railing against the kuffar sitting in Muslim countries. How many of these “sheikhs” come to the west to do dawah?
Eveyone needs to find a niche “thagra” and try to cover it for the sake of Allah, whereever they are. If they never smiled at their non-Muslim neighbor but sit around discussing the revival of the caliphate thats a problem, for example.
And the Muslims who give us a bad name. Let them follow the prophetic etiquette in whatever they are doing, at least, before crying about how the general muslim public in the east or west are not supporting them. They even got kicked out of iraq due to their bad behaviour towards other Muslims. Everyone should realize their own mistakes and be humble in their criticisms.

ASA My Brother/Sister… I understand completely what you are saying and your intention and only want to add that the meaning of the word Jihad is “struggle” and that doesn’t mean that Jihad = Fighting only… of Jihad = Dawah only… Jihad in my understanding is every struggle that a muslim does to survive in this world against things that would affect him, his family, society and the world around him… Jihad is struggling to earn a living for your family, Jihad is protecting your family from the filth on TV and other media, Jihad is speaking out against bad things when people around you accept it as the norm, Jihad is ensuring you eat and drink Halal only and stay away from Haraam, Jihad is helping those around you when they are in need or being oppressed, Jihad is defending yourself against those who would want to harm you, even if it means you have to fight them… Jihad for the sake of Allah is a lot of things and none of them is negative like the non-believers would have you believe. Jihad is not a swear word that we should be afraid of uttering from our mouths but unfortunately that is what the non-believers (kuffar) have turned it into because to them, Jihad = Terrorism which is not true because “Struggle” =! Terrorism… Terrorism is oppression and muslims would be the first to stand up against it.

I want to comment on your statement, “Anybody who does not unconditionally hate all things kufr, is a kafir.”
Kufr = “To show ungratefulness to Allah and not to believe in him or his commands, i.e. reject Allah’s commandments”… also “Disbelief”.
So what you are actually saying is essentially that “Anyone who does not unconditionally show greatfullness to Allah and disobeys/rejects his commands is a [non-believer]“.
I don’t see anything wrong with that sentence, does anyone? Seems pretty logical to me. If you believe in God and then reject God’s commandments and message, then you are a “non-believer”.
Pretty straighforward to me. Not sure what you are trying to get at. Perhaps you have misunderstood what Sheikh Anwar is saying? My suggestion is as follows. Sheikh Anwar as well as the rest of the people on this planet, in the absence of Prophets, are simply human beings who are trying to do our best to do what is right and avoid the bad things. You should read the Quran to see precisely what Allah is saying because whatever Allah says is the truth. I’m sure you will find in the Quran the solution to all if lifes problems.

Like you said in one of your many great lecture series and I think it was about tasfir Ayat Al Kursi but you mentioned Surah Al-Khaf. Thank you so much for this. I’ve been getting more and more frustrated with what I called the “post 911 symdrome”. Muslims trying so hard to fit in and please the non Muslims around them. I still don’t understand the interfaith dialogue. I come from an Evangelical Christian background and I’m telling you, I would not be able to find one church that would let an Imam come and teach the congregation about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Yet how many Masjiids are allowing priests and preachers come and teach Muslims about how Isa is the son of god? I don’t see any benefit in this phenomenon.

Brothers, I have been doing a lot of thinking about strategy and whatnot. There is a site strategypages.com where you can basically see what the enemy is going to do to us and going to try to get us to do. For example, when a bomb goes off in a market full of believers it helps the enemy. Why? If your mother is killed by someone are you going to join them?
This concept has been so fully understood by the kuffar that in Iraq UK and US soldiers have been caught planting bombs for a “terrorist” attack.
Another key strategy employed by the kuffar is that they are going to try to force the Mujahideen from establishing a base of operations. This is not to undermine organization so much as it is to prevent people from joining the side of the Mujahid.
We need to establish bases where we teach the faith and reduce casualties as much as possible. A lot of the Mujahideen have good hearts, but lack knowledge to know how to act from their position. We need to work on the aqeedah while we fight.
Furthermore, when engaging Muslims we should look to capture them (another reason for a Base of Operations). During the Afghan-Soviet War we would capture Muslims who were misguided very frequently. These soldiers really did not want to fight other Muslims, so they often surrendered.
After they surrendered a very large number of them joined the Mujahideen. This brought very good equipment to the troops of the Mujahideen and greatly turned the tides of the war.
What is going on right now is that in certain areas we are forgetting how we wage jihad. We are to minimize civilian casualties and minimize those within our own ranks.
The Juba are an excellent example of this. Snipers can get a kill with moderate ease, but without being killed themselves.
Obviously I am not there and can only speak from information in public documents, but if you read about guerrilla warfare strategies used by the United States these conclusions are natural. If you are a Mujahid or future Mujahid insha’allah, then please spend time educating yourself on battlefield conduct in Islam. Also, the strategies the Prophet(SAAWS) are amazing subhanallah and transcend time. We must not forget he is the best of examples. Look at where he used diplomacy, trickery, and even fear. You can save countless lives if you make the enemy fear you.

Imam Anwar, jazakullahu khairam for touching on this topic, nowadays there are those quote-to-quote called “democratic muslims,” who have eventually accepted the da’wah and ways of the kuffar. I was also asked by one of the managers in my job if i was a “hardcore Muslim”? i replied that i am Muslim 100%, he replied “there is no such thing as a 100% Muslim! so i told him that i do follow our laws(sha’riah) to the letter and i do my best as a Muslim. Unfortunately he is trying to demoralize me a belittle me, but he was not successful in his so called “education to a muslim” for he was trying to educate me. My loyalty is ONLY to Allah and the BELIEVERS! WALLAHU AKBAR! these people employ many tactics, that if we’re not becareful and analyze where they come from and how they approach us, we can fall in their traps. Unfortuantely many westernized Muslim such as the “American-Muslims” sugar coat islam by giving substracting “complete Submission and Obedience to Allah” from the equation and just leaving the word “Peace.” Oh brothers and sisters, it is true that we cannot guide anyone unless Allah wills, but we should not curve to the demands of the disbelivers. Imam Anwar mentioned many important points about these new phenomenon of “democratic-liberal Muslims” in his lecture “the battle of the hearts and minds.” Muslims is time to be more vigilant than before, it’s time to wake up! whenver a kaffir comes and tells what we are, they are trying to kill the muslims by killing the character, this is not different from the Kuffar in the time of our beloved Prophet (SAWS), they didnt only wanted to kill his character, but they plotted get rid of him as well and you will find no contradiction in what these kuffar are doing today. Remember what imam anwar said also, that we should take islam as a whole and not pick and choose just like the people of the book did before us. I currently work with “one of those muslims” and it makes me real uncomfortable when he and the kufr speak, always saying stuff like “when is the jihad coming” or “your beard is getting long” and always eating during ramadan irrates me so much. my iman is growing and insha allah i started looking for new work keeping in mind allah is the provider. I do not have the imaan to speak up as yet, but there are brothers out there that are on the kufr side, saying stuff like…”why are “WE” with war in IRAQ and Afghanistan”, let “them kill themselves there” stuff like that are coming from brothers mouth. may allah guide us all and make us better. but your post is so true. To Interfaith Imama…I strongly advise you and urge you to read surah Al Kafirun….here is a little historical background in case you didn’t know (which you did know but I’m assuming you flexed that part of the religion)…seek the truth and stop kissing up to the kaffir!!! According to Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas, the Quraish proposed to the Holy Prophet; “We shall give you so much of wealth that you will become the richest man of Makkah; we shall give you whichever woman you like in marriage; we are prepared to follow and obey you as our leader, only on the condition that you will not speak ill of our gods. If you do not agree to this, we present another proposal which is to your as well as to our advantage.” When the Holy Prophet asked what it was, they said that if he would worship their gods, Lat and Uzza, for a year, they would worship his God for the same space of time. The Holy Prophet said: “Wait awhile; let me see what my Lord commands in this regard.” Thereupon the revelation came down: Qul ya-ayyuhal-kafirun…and: Qul afa-ghair Allah…(Az-Zumar: 64): “Say to them: ignorant people do you bid me to worship others than Allah?” (Ibn Jarir, Ibn Abi Hatim, Tabarani). According to another tradition from Ibn Abbas, the Quraish said to the Holy Prophet: “O Muhammad, if you kiss our gods, the idols, we shall worship your God.” Thereupon, this Surah was sent down. (Abd bin Humaid)

I read that email in astonishment. Imagine having the gall to tell an educated sheik to review and apologize for his position! Wow, this is the epitome of arrogance!
As for Muslims taking issue with calling the kuffar kuffar, unfortunately I see that more often than not. I have a feeling the man who authored this email was either an american revert or was born here to Muslim parent’s. This is the most accepted Muslim in our society and these kids of words are applauded by both the Muslim community as well as by the kuffar. This is a strong evidence in support of hijra. How do you raise Muslim children in this kind of atmosphere? Even when we teach them in the home they face alot of contradictions from outside, and we cannot shield then from that their entire lives. It frightens me because I know Allah will ask me for how I raised my children, and being a revert myself, I could use as much help as I can get from the Muslim community. But sadly, this is the situation here.
May Allah make it easy for all of those seeking to make hijra for His sake, and may He forgive us and guide us all to the right path and save us from fitnah. Ameen.

After winning the war Muslims did not kill innocent, raped anybody or forced their religion on the natives. On the contrary they were given an option to pay a nominal amount as Jizia as a consideration for granting them protection. Muslims had to pray, fight as a defence, fast and pay Zakath in proportion to his income. Whereas Non Muslims need not participate in warfare and was bound to pay a nominal amount as Jizia which was far less compared to Zakath.

Subhan’Allah, Shaikh. I was aware of this phenomenon, but always ignored it. It’s certainly an issue demanding address. Although I disagree with you on one point, this phenomenon isn’t all that new. Perhaps its become a pandemic of sorts lately, but Muslims going out their way to please the kuffar is something that’s been effective for centuries I dare say. Does not Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala warn Muhammad salallahu ‘alayhi wa salaam about them during his lifetime, referring to them as “munafiqun” (hypocrites)?
Anyhow, it turns my stomach every moment I hear about these Muslims joining forces in movements like “gay rights” and “interfaith togetherness” using daw’ah to mask their intentions. Disclosures such as those from our fellow “Interfaith Imam” further disgust me. How does one justify joining in worship with the kuffar in so-called buildings having wall-to-wall shirk? Praying alongside those crying out to Jesus alayhi salaam or invoking idols and other than Allah, Most High for aid and mercy? That’s not daw’ah, that’s kuffar! The key to daw’ah is to call the people to Tawheed, not to partake in their shirk, enter their churches and celebrate their holidays… what is this?

There is a group of brothers doing the same thing in harvard uni, the so called smartest people, every week they all read each other scripts respectively and their tafsirs and saying they all get along with each other. Prophet mohammed pbuh told us to be differnt from the jews and the christians! May Allah bless you and your family in this life and the next, my knowledge about Jihad was enlightened when I heard your lectures. As for the brother who accused you, well obviously he forgot that Allah said in the Qur’an, “Surah 2:190-193 “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress limits…And slay them wherever ye catch them. And turn them out from where they have turned you out; for persecution is worse than slaughter; But fight them not at the sacred Mosque unless they first fight you there; But if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who reject faith. But if they cease, Allah is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more persecution. And the religion becomes Allah’s. But if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression”
It’s stupid of the brother to say Muslims in Palestine and Afghanistan should just leave and base their lives only on Dawa when Allah says we are supposed to fight back if we are oppressed. What does he want this Ummah to be…the next Bani Israel? Dancing to Fir’aoun tunes (in our day and time the Western ‘civilzed’ nations (America, Britain, Israel))?Plus the Muslims in the dunya are suffering because of the Kuffar and Allah said they are plotting against us and their plotting is sufficient to move mountains!
Now as a Muslim, this is sufficient because these are Allah’s Words and Allah’s Words are Haqq. Plus it may be that we may dislike a thing (Jihad), but it may be that that thing we dislike is best for us. How are we to know? After all, we are created by Allah, our Lord, and we are His slaves. And a slave must obey his Master. The brother is the one who needs to open his eyes and fear Allah and the Last Day. If he wants to base his life giving Dawa…that’s fine, but my suggestion would be for him to learn his Deen Islam and then give CORRECT Dawa. Also before he starts criticizing the friends of Allah, and our respected leaders, then he better fear Allah. Allah wages war on those who hurt His friends and who do rib’a (interest).

And if the answer is NO, then I have no complain against you. i have benifited much from imam anwar and now discovering shaykh imran hosein. alhamdullelah. i have found him to be one of the great imams of our time. i am curious what your oppinon is of his work and opinons? he is and has written serveral books. free to read online. and many talks about the strange world we are living in. i think that his work is very much importaint at this time as it appears to be the calm before the storm. the shaykh brings strong proofs from quran and sunnah and common sense tells me hes right. that the major signs have actually started. some of the tribes of gog and magog are actually the one world order of gog and magog, the false state of israel is the beast speaking to people. and his carefull annalasis of whats going on politicaly has been sniper like in accuracy. going back to his works from years ago its all playing out now. well i hope that you can find the time to comment if you are familar with him.
i think that the problem with the lost muslim or those rand muslims is basically summed up in the following quote from shaykh imran hoseins book surah al kahf in the modern age…….
” Khidr said to Moses, Surely you would not be able to show patience with me. Indeed, how can you show patience in respect of that which lies beyond your comprehension (since you can temporarily see with only one eye, and consequently can access only external empirical knowledge)?( Sūrah al-Kahf, 18:66-67)
Those like Dajjāl, who see with one eye, can never be patient enough to learn from those like Khidr, who see with two eyes, i.e., the external and the internal. Dajjal’s epistemological attack on mankind renders them internally blind and, hence, easily deceived by external appearance while remaining incapable of penetrating internal reality in all that pertains to his mysterious mission. They sometimes lose faith in Allah Most High and become profoundly misguided without being even conscious of such. Nearly always, however, they lack the capacity to understand either the movement of history or the role that Jerusalem and the Holy Land play in the End of History. The Quran declares of such people that they have a status akin to cattle. “

Asalamalaikum wr wb, unforunately we have alot of “house” Muslims these days. Any heart which doesnt have at least some level of barra for the kaafirs, and some degree of wala for the Muslims, is a heart which has disease in it, may Allah save us.
I personally feel its these people who are part of the disease in our ummah.
When you read Islamic history, you’ll always find that Muslims never mixed with kaafirs, in Andalusia, in India, and other places and that was part of what made the Muslims strong and dominant, ofcoarse non muslims were given rights and allowed their freedoms, but there was always a devide between people of truth and people of falsehood.
You’ll find that when Muslims started getting philosophical, trying to have inter faith dialog, inventing new biddahs, taking things from other religons , Muslims lost the dominance and power.
Not only lost the dominance and power but we were humiliated, and still are humiliated by the disbelievers, they will never accept us until we follow their way, and when we follow their way, we will be despised by not only Allah, but the whole creation, look at Turkey, as a country, their hated by the europeans whom they try to emulate so much, and hated by other Muslims as their seen as apostates and sell outs. (not the people, the government). Look how much Kosovans and Bosnians are hated around Europe, Their white skinned, speak the same language, have the same names and customs, I cant tell the difference between any East Europen, Serb, Croat, Bosnian or anything, but they are despised by the very people they try to emulate. The Bosnians were slaughtered, mercilessly by the disbelievers, yet there was absolutely no visible difference between a serb and a Bosnian, apart from the fact the Bosnians great Grandfather was a Muslim.
People like ed husain the munafiq, and his like are the enemies of Islam, when the kaafirs have got their use out of him he will be despised, if he isnt already.

I pray Allal bestows his mercy upon all of the muslims around the world and guides us all. I have read the blod and firstly I’d like to say for anyone who is reading this, that Imam Anwar’s answer was subhan’Allah very consice and clear, May Allah reward him for his efforts.
In regards to some of the other comments that some of our other muslim brothers or sisters have posted with what seemed like abhorrence for the brother/sister who posted the initial comment, personally, and I could be wrong, I believe instead of showing animosity towards those with whom we disagree we should pray for them and try to educate them. Many times because of where we live or how we have been brought up, our thoughts resemble our society. I am not saying that this is correct, but the only way for that barrier to be penetrated is by education. I personally believe instead of rediculing the person who wrote the comment, we should pray for them and do as Imam Anwar has done by the method of education.
My sincere love is with all of the muslims around the world, May Allah guide us, he is the one we ask.

Islamic rulings are based Daleel or evidence from the Quran and the way of the Prophet(SAW).
Please show where the Quran and the Sunnah goes against what Imam Anwar has said.

Recall the famous hadith of our prophet Muhammed (Sallallah O Alaihay Wa Sallam), when Quraish wanted to negotiate the terms and asked him (Sallallah O Alaihay Wa Sallam) to follow their religion for a few days and we will follow yours for a month? What did he say to them? He said “that even if they offered him the moon in one hand and the sun in the other, he wouldn’t do that”.
What kind of Imam go to their religious grounds (other than Islam) and offer prayers in their churches, temples etc. You think that Allah needs you? You think that the only way to convert someone to Islam is to follow them first and then when the time is right, offer Dawah? If Allah wills, he will convert everyone to Islam, but he wants you to go out and send the message without any strings attached. He sent Moosa (AS) and Haroon (AS) to Pharaon to send the message. Didnt Allah knew that he (Pharaon) will mock them? It took Nooh (AS) hundreds of years but he never gave up. Do you even know how much effort he put to convert them and send the message? Did he follow their religion first, and tried to balance the world with Aakhira?
You people have made Islam something that revolves around your own little tiny world. On the contrary, it should be the world revolving around Islam. The best example is something that I experienced when we built a Masjid in our area and the board wanted to rent out a shop to some karate classes right next door. Most of them, who are the board members, try to justify the rent by saying that while we are getting rent from them, there is a Dawah opportunity as well, like Dawah is their goal. They forget that renting out to Kuffars right next to the Masjid means that no one can monitor what they are doing in there. They forget that Allah does not want their money, he wants what is in our hearts and our intentions. He can make us all millionaires and make us pay for the Masjid. BUT, Allah wants our efforts and true Intentions.
I have heard so many times from these moderate muslims, that if I have any problems here in the US, then go back to your own country and they say that US is the most tolerant state in the world because you work here and live in their country and they provide you. FOR ME, THIS IS ALLAH’S WORLD, HE IS THEIR PROVIDER, AND MINE. IT IS HIS WORLD AND NOT THEIRS.
If we STOP being afraid of them and only FEAR ALLAH, we will have Taqwa, The ultimate goal.

From Tafsir Ibn Kathir on Ayah 2:62 (There’s more btw)…
The Meaning of those verses are as follows:
`Ali bin Abi Talhah narrated from Ibn `Abbas, about–
(2:62 Verily, those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day)– that Allah revealed the following Ayah afterwards,
(3:85 And whoever seeks religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers)
This statement by Ibn `Abbas clarifies that Allah does not accept any deed or work from anyone, unless it conforms to the Law of Muhammad, that is, after Allah sent Muhammad . Before that, every person who followed the guidance of his own Prophet was on the correct path, following the correct guidance and was saved.
Also, the verse that “feroze” pointed to is not even in the sixth surah Al-An’am. Plus the translation he gave (if you look at the actual verses in 2:62 5:69 and 22:17) is deceptive and incorrect.

* A man who is true Muslim covets the dominance of Islam. He will surely fight against the infidels. If he is unable to do so due to poverty or some valid reason, he will feel duty at heart. He will always have the intention to participate in Jihad whenever he finds an opportunity. But a man who neither fights in Allah path not has the intention to do so is like the hypocrites who do not want the promotion of Islam sincerely.

This response is a expected response in my opinion due to the lack of education Muslim receive and also the fact that Muslim are influence and mis-educated by sources that only wish to water down the Muslims and Islam, they are being successful in doing so but will achieve nothing but I wish to say that although you have Muslims who say silly things and think that Islam is peace, this is what happens when Muslims don’t learn from the History. Muslims can achieve peace only through submission and this means that violence may be part of the journey to peace especially when Islam allows one to defend himself, land, family, wealth etc. If a Muslim disagrees, then he should consider learning about the Seerah of the Prophet [saw].

the islamic rules of engagements are clear- we must not kill women, children, or the elderly, and the weak, noncombatants etc. it is permissible to capture women. one could argue that taxpayers are fully accountable for the wars and can be killed due to their accountability.
but you have to keep in mind that it is more likely and there is more proof that 9/11 was not committed by the mujahideen, but by israel and america, who likely brainwashed muslim prisoners of israel to get on these planes. physics suggests that it is highly unlikely for buildings to collapse from simply the burning of jetfuel or whatnot, and it is rather apparent that the buildings went down from an INSIDE job, a controlled demolition with bombs inside the building going off.
the mujahideen fisabilillah do not target civilians. in the case of israel: it can easily be argued that every adult citizen has served in the military (required by israel) except for the conscientious objectors, so very few people in israel are “civilians.” however it also is quite baffling that suicide bombers are able to get through to israel, in light of all the checkpoints and “security”, walls, and weakening of the people due to limited resources. i think its quite clear (as someone else here has also suggested) that israel itself is responsible for the acts of terror against the everyday people.. israel and america NEED terrorism to survive, they MUST create terrorism to propogate their agenda and continue the wars that they thirst for.. they will never want peace and they will gladly kill their own for the sake of their ideologies- this is known about the zionists throughout history.
the mujahideen on the other hand, always try their best to target MILITARY places with their rockets and their guns. terrorism is a tool of the kuffar to divide us.
so to answer your question- no we cannot target innocent civilians, only the ones that fight against us actively. but someone more knowledgeable can argue that it is true of taxpayers etc.. i am not that knowledgeable. may Allah forgive if i said soemthing wrong.. but use your common sense and understand what is going on, and who needs and benefits from all this bloodshed- the followers of SHAITAN.

This reminds me of a saying of Syed Qutb (Rahimullah) in his master piece “MILESTONES”
“When Jahiliyya takes the form, not of a theory but of an active movement in this fashion, then any attempt to abolish this Jahiliyya and to bring people back to God which presents Islam merely as a theory will be undesirable, rather useless. Jahiliyya controls the practical world, and for its support there is a living and active organization. When the purpose is to abolish the existing system and to replace it with a new system which in its character, principles and all its general and particular aspects, is different from the controlling jahili system, then it stands to reason that this new system should also come into the battlefield as an organized movement and a viable group. I would just like to make the point that NO ONE other than Allah (swt) knows what is in the hearts of the people.
The role of JUDGE is not for the Muslims but only for Allah (swt). No one should judge any other solely on face value or be stereotypical in condemning ALL to the Hell Fire.
We are all of the same race. The human Race.
There were many differences between the Mecca period and the Madina period. Strategic differences, differences in what actions could or could not be taken. Even when the first martyr of Islam was a woman, our beloved prophet (saw) took NO action because it would have been foolish to do so. Understand the wisdom here.
Jihad is being waged upon Muslims not just on the battle fields but through the media and many other fronts.
The dynamics have changed and we as Muslims also need to learn how to acquire the same tools that our enemies acquire and develop.
We want to attack our enemy with their weapons? What’s happened to our brains. Why are we not using them? Do we need to be spoonfed?
Muslims need to strive in education for duniya as well as deen. The USA and others were not given technological superiority from the skies, they struggled. Sadly we Muslims struggle in understanding deen and duniya and want a quick win and when we don’t get it we show it through our frustration and emotion which makes our enemies laugh at us and pity us.
With the trillions of dollars of wealth we Muslims have, who is working with the Ummah in building a foundation for a strong education, a strong research and development operation and so on…
The Ummah has become complacent and until we change our condition on many issues, Allah (swt) will not change us.
