I've been doing research concerning the Air Defense Systems in D.C. apparently I mislabelled those systems as being Patriots, this article is saying that they are not Patriots but a "non-U.S. Army missile system". This is interesting. I'm guessing they are foreign made because they don't specify anything about them, like if they were a U.S. Air Force system, they would have said, "U.S. Army crew mans a U.S. Air Force defensive missile system" or something like that. So, whose are they? I think it would be quite the story if U.S. troops were using non U.S. made weapons systems to defend the skies over the nation's capital. This is also interesting from the article:

"Operations in built-up areas force them to deal with urban traffic and curious civilians while transporting live missiles. Weapons emplacement requires them to deploy and operate their weapon systems from the roof-tops or upper floors of office buildings occupied by civilian workers going about their daily chores."

The only roof top location that's been identified is the Washington Naval Yard location, so there must be others. They must have guys hidden with Stingers in and around the Beltway deployed at various locations, my guess is Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Army Hospital. But there has to be more, if you arc around the Maryland side of the Beltway from Caderock to Andrews, I still don't see anything protecting that area, which is Northwest to Southeast.

The entire operation is run out of the Joint Air Defense Operation Center at Bolling Air Force Base. Still trying to identify that building as well. Anyway, I'm still scanning Maps Live/Google Maps. Will let you know if I find anything.

Following Shepherd's lead, a likely air defense system is described here:

The Norwegian Advanced SAM System (NASAMS). The NASAMS launcher has six ready to fire AMRAAM missiles.

NASAMS was developed in close cooperation with the Royal Norwegian Air Force during the 1990s and has since then been contracted by the Netherlands, Spain, and the US. In latter case, the high capacity system was operational in connection with the inauguration of the US president in Washington DC in 2005. It has been in continuous operation ever since.
