Michael John Smith writes:
The 5 files listed below contain the complete set of technical documents that was used to support Count 4 of the indictment against me at my trial. These documents effectively led to my conviction for espionage at my trial in 1993. The judge considered this material was so sensitive that he gave me a sentence of 25 years imprisonment at the end of the trial. However, the sensitivity of these documents must also be judged by the fact that I was allowed to keep a complete set of the documents at the end of the trial.
The 5 files contain the following exhibits:
Part 1: pages 2-82, referred to as Exhibit 3 or JS/15, which contains documents about surface acoustic wave technology.
smith-count-4-exhibits-part-1.pdf (2.5MB)
Part 2: pages 83-175, Exhibit 3 or JS/15 (continued) containing documents about surface acoustic wave technology.
smith-count-4-exhibits-part-2.pdf (4.2MB)
Part 3: pages 188-269 referred to as Exhibits 9 - 25 or JS/21 - 37 inclusive and containing documents about bulk acoustic wave technology.
smith-count-4-exhibits-part-3.pdf (3.5MB)
Part 4: pages 269/A-269/J referred to as Exhibit 26 or JS/38 and containing 10 drawings about bulk acoustic wave delay lines.
smith-count-4-exhibits-part-4.pdf (9.8MB)
Part 5: pages 269/1-269/87, referred to as SR/4 and containing documents about Infra-Red (thermal) Imaging, silicon-on-sapphire and gallium arsenide technology.
smith-count-4-exhibits-part-5.pdf (2.9MB)
Note: pages 176 - 187 are the exhibits used in Count 3 of the indictment, and these are published elsewhere on Cryptome (http://cryptome.org/smith-case-docs.htm)
