From Titanic to cryptography:
The Catacrypt workshop:
a call for comments and proposals
People are thinking that the cryptography in use today is secure for ever.
Why not? But the inverse is also possible. Think also about the story of
the Titanic. A talk was given in Berlin end December 2011 about that subject,
see 28C3: "The future of cryptology: which 3 letters algorithm(s) could be
our Titanic?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dux05hxzAQs
and we are asking you what is the RISK of a CATAstrophic event related to
CRYPTography (somebody finding a perfect attack against elliptic curves,
AES, or maybe, RSA)?
Your comments are welcome, to be sent to Jean-Jacques Quisquater

The idea is to organize very soon a workshop about that subject.
We already have a lot of support including Peter Neumann from comp.risks
(thanks!).
