FBI Sean Joyce and Paula Broadwell

Sean M. Joyce (below), Deputy Director and former head of the National Security Branch of the FBI, reportedly informed DNI James Clapper of the Petraeus-Broadwell affair uncovered by the FBI.

Joyce and Paula Broadwell were speakers at the Aspen Security Forum on July 25-28, 2012, an annual commingling of current and former national security officials with the national security media, some of whom may be uneasy about where investigation of national security affairs may lead should it not be limited to a diverting sexual scandal. Joyce is reputed to be an implacable investigator highly adept at untangling the manifold ruses and exploits of the global national security culture. More on the ASF 2012:
