Mr. Young, according to our database, we sent a letter to you on 11 January 2013 asking if you were still interested in the information and asking that you please narrow the scope of your request if you were still interested. We indicated that we would hold your request in abeyance for 45 days pending a response from you. We did not hear from you and the request was administratively closed and a follow-up letter was sent to you on 6 May 2013. We mailed the letters to the address that you have provided (repeated below) and our letters were not returned as undeliverable. I will be happy to forward copies of those letters if you would like to have them for your records.

We have received your most recent request and will open a case for you. You will receive an acceptance letter shortly. It will be mailed to 251 West 89th Street, New York, NY 10024. Please verify that this is the correct address.

Thank you,

Thank you for a prompt response. I regret not seeing your 2013 letters in response to my request. I would like to have them. And, if still allowable, I will narrow my request.

I do recall receiving a telephone call from a DNI representative some time ago who said there had been numerous requests for Intellipedia information and that your agency had not yet set a policy for response but would respond after the policy was settled.

I appreciate the opening of a new case of considerable public interest.

The address is correct.

Sincerely,

Mr. Young, we’ll get copies of those letters in the mail for you early next week, unless there is a government shutdown.

With regard to your 2009 case, since it has been administratively closed, you will need to submit a new request. At this time, NSA is handling requests for information located on Intellipedia, so you will need to submit your request to them. They require that requests for information from Intellipedia be very specific in order to be able to process.

If you haven’t already done so, you may want to visit NSA’s FOIA Reading Room. Perhaps some of the information that you are interested in has already been released.

Thank you,
