2 December 2013 FBI Probing Colin Powell and Other Email Hacks This apparently refers to several Guccifer hacks of emails. This email was not sent to Cryptome by the FBI.
I am Roger Campbell, a Special Agent with the FBI. I am investigating the hacking of the email accounts of numerous high-profile individuals, to include General Colin Powell. I want to discuss the email sent from your Gmail account shortly after the compromise of General’s Powell’s Facebook account, indicating possible knowledge of the hacker. I want to set up a time with you tomorrow so we can discuss (by phone) any information you may have pertaining to the hacking. You are not in any trouble nor do we consider you a suspect at all in this matter. We are simply trying to piece together any information to help us identify the hacker. I thought it would be less intrusive to speak to you by phone than to send agents from our Florida office to speak to you in person at your residence or your place of employment. Please provide a phone number that I could reach you tomorrow; either at 10:30 est or 2:00pm est and let me know which time is more convenient. Thank-you, Roger
