I send this to you as an interesting addendum to a story you have previously carried.
Julie-ann Davis, the student who was arrested under the British Official Secrets Act in connection with the ex-MI5 agent David Shayler, has once more been asked to 'assist the Police with their enquiries'. This time she has been quizzed for information relating to the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence. It is believed that she is co-operating fully with the Lawrence enquiry. I do not know the extent of her involvement in this matter at this time. But I find it curious that yet again she has been hauled in for questioning, and in particular over such a serious matter.

Sir,
I am appalled you would publish the name of someone involved in the ongoing Stephen Lawerence investigation. In my eyes you have put that person at risk of harmfull attack. The people involved have several convictions for violent crimes against individuals.
If Ms Davis is harmed after your naming her on your website, I will exhaust myself making sure every media knows how her name was made public.
Yours

Thank you for writing.
Anonymous is a 100% reliable source who persuaded me that publication of the message would help protect threatened parties from the people who have threatened great harm in the past and continue to do so. And that not airing the circumstances could lead to far worse.
Indeed, we expect to be held accountable for material published.
And I will remain cautious about any allegation concerning the murderous Lawrence inquiry.
Best regards,
John Young

I also got an early morning call from special branch and had my comps taken shortly after JA's arrest.
Forgive me if I am speaking out of turn, I do so only out of concern.
I can assure you JA's role in this whole affair is entirely as it should be, I can't comment anymore than that on the subject as it's very sensitive and not my place to do so.
I would hope you think carefully before publishing any further comments from anonymous as the individuals involved in this case are pretty dangerous guys and I fear for JA's safety because, as anon stated, she is indeed 'helping with police enquiries' as you now know. I'm just a little worried at what lengths the individuals concerned may go to if they get wind , which they no doubt will.

Mr Young,
Please feel free to place this on your website.
I have read all the mails under this thread and I am truly touched that people fear for my safety, but I do not feel there is any great threat to me, nor would I bend to any intimidation from people who would commit such a crime, if any threat was issued. (Which it has not been.)
It is true that I have been speaking with the Police regarding the murder of Stephen Lawrence as I am sure a great many others have and hopefully will continue to do so.
Given the scale of public interest in this case, I am not surprised that this information has reached the public domain, in fact I am surprised that, under the circumstances, it did not become public earlier. I know that it would only have been a matter of time before the situation was revealed elsewhere and maybe with less sensitivity than has been shown here by Mr. Young, for whom I have a great deal of respect..
My legal case against the Police over my OSA arrest is still continuing regardless.
Best Regards
Julie-ann Davies
