17 January 2009

Cryptome took photos this morning of the operation to lift US Airways Flight 1549 from the Hudson.
Police had cordoned the area so photos could be taken from a half to a full block away from the
aircraft -- of which only the left wing could be seen angled up out of the water. No lift took place
while there for a couple of hours, only moving in water-borne cranes and lift preparation. This
was a happy party for the workers, responders and officials, double-time pay over the weekend,
getting on TV, nobody barbecued or chopped into meat chunks.
