Objective: Presents mathematical discussions of the mechanics of satellite orbital motion. The course instruction is intended for Planner Analysts, Orbit Analysts, and other operational and technical personnel requiring detailed knowledge of the techniques that apply to orbital computation and analysis. The presentation starts with a historical overview and a mathematical review to provide the background necessary to understand the concepts and calculations that follow. Coordinate systems and transformations are discussed along with time reference systems. Presentation proceeds to two-body relative motion, including concepts of force, energy, and angular momentum, and Kepler's Equation. Other topics discussed include orbital element sets, ephemeral generation, satellite ground tracks and eclipse durations.

Objective: Provides introductory familiarization training on the DSM Man Machine interface capabilities and use of the 3270 keyboard.
