Cryptome took a look today at preparations at Columbia University for the Obama-McCain appearance tomorrow, September 11, 2008. Taped to the side of a media equipment van parked at the sidewalk curb was the schedule below. After we took photos of the schedule a media technician came over to say that the schedule was confidential and should not be photographed. We asked for a printed copy. He said no. A student came up to photograph the schedule. She said Columbia students are upset at being excluded from the event. The Columbia Spectator, student newspaper, had an editorial today attacking the Columbia administration for arranging the event with minimal student involvment (seats for a 100 students among 1,500 rich and famous to attend with no student questions allowed). http://www.columbiaspectator.com/node/55482 A media supervisor rushed up yelling, "what are you doing, erase those photographs." She clawed the schedule from the van, ran to get a cop. Cop came, said nothing. The event is to be broadcast by CNN.
