I hope you wouldn't mind some shorter follow up questions, since the article itself will probably take a form based on your guys' help. I kindly ask you that you not publish our exchange on the website, because I consider it personal between the four of us - you, me, Edgar Nixon and Paul, and I hope that doesn't miff you too much :) I can easily understand why you've taken the position you have; instead of denying and denying to no avail, I would rather just produce a good article - challenging, interesting, hilarious and publishable :) I don't know if you read my little 'sea monkey' piece about the fib (sea-monkey refers to myself), but I doubt it is accurate: in it, the newsmen (who eventually contacted me in force) were referred to as jedi, fellows like you (who picked up on me and in turn alerted the jedi) were referred to as jawas, while I was the sea-monkey. The more I think about it, and hope concerning it, it seems to me the article will put the jawas at front and center in the googlebot process :) At least, I hope so! Anyway, just for starters please: 1. What got you interested in this area on the internet? personal interest? political interest? etc. 2. For how long have you been trolling the web for spies, etc.? 3. What is your biggest scoop to date? (It could be you and your friends and/or associates)? 4. What is your purpose, as you see it, in contributing your comments/analyses on the internet? 5. In general terms, could you describe where you live, what you do, what you want to do (only as specific as you feel comfortable)? 6. What is the funniest event you've encountered in your web role? 7. How did you meet your friends/associates? I mean, was it through the internet or did you know some of them personally before working together in/through the site(s)? 8. How weird was it to receive my missive concerning my fib? Do most folks not contact you when you put them up or do they deny it usually? 9. What is your view of the US government in general terms and what is your role visa-vis it? Do you think you are part of the Fifth Estate (the media) or do you find yourself placed between the media and people? Or in some other position I can't see? 10. Is there any question I've missed in just this preliminary set of questions? I hope this isn't too much. After digesting these answers, I'll be able to set a course for the whole article and, with your permission and kindness, follow up on these questions. Obviously, I doubt anybody's done research quite like this before and I hope we all get something out of it :) Be well and THANK YOU. Robert P.S. I will send this to the others as is :) On 8/16/06, John Young <jya[at]pipeline.com> wrote: > Robert, > > Your Vanity Fair story needs dissents from me and couple of others > to what you write to be included with the article.
